What You’ll Do
As a staff Functional Safety Enginee you will work in an agile development process . Direct communication with the customer and onsite support is your highest priority. Travel is up to 50%.

The Functional Safety Engineer is responsible for assisting and ensuring that design and development of the project is carried out in accordance with Functional Safety methodology (in-line with ISO26262).

Analyze and evaluate stakeholders Automotive safety related requirements (including OEMs project compliance matrices).

Support the definition of HARA, functional safety concept with the alignment of customer specifications.

Develop and support the definition of functional safety concepts during the quotation phase and at projects kick-off.

Develop of technical safety requirements at system architectural design level.

Support the safety analysis (FTA, FMEA, FMEDA, DFA, ..etc) on the product system level for mechanical, hardware and software.

Prepare safety cases for powertrain projects including the proper justification.

Support in process definitions & quality control activities in compliance of ISO26262.

Support in the definition of safety activities planning for the powertrain products.

Maintain Development Interface Agreement(DIA) with Customers.
Who You are
-
B.Sc. in Communication, Mechatronics, Electronics, or Computer Engineering.

7+ years of experience in software development.
-
UML and architecture tools.
-
Requirements/Configuration management.
-
Problem-solving.
-
Excellent English level.
-
Autonomous and self-motivated.
-
Real-time operating systems.
-
AUTOSAR knowledge. Adaptive AUTOSAR is a strong plus.

Good knowledge about software engineering (requirement, design, development, verification and validation).

C++ Software development is a plus.

Embedded Linux knowledge is a plus.

System knowledge – ASIL B, C or D system.

Create and maintain project safety plan in alignment with project management and engineering departments according to development process.

Prepare functional safety concept, technical safety concept.
-
Derivation of safety requirements from safety concept.
-
Define safety strategies for random hardware failure.
-
Define system safe states and its transition and perform failure analysis for interfaces.

Perform design safety analysis FMEA, FTA for systematic failures (system, software)Perform quantitative FTA to derive the system failure rate to meet random hardware failure safety target ISO26262 processes as per the ASIL level of product in development.

Lead functional safety meetings with customer.

Review test case specification for functional safety validation.

Interface between customer safety organization and engineering departments for safety related activities.

Hazard Analysis and Risk assessment and DFMEA -> System, Hardware, Software (at least any one).

System knowledge – ASIL B, C or D system.
-
Experience with automotive systems development life cycle.
